About Lorna
Lorna has been an avid horse person since she was two years old. She has been certified by the State of Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship as a riding instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning, as well as the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association as a mental health practitioner and horse handler.
Lorna is a skilled Reiki human and animal practitioner. She has worked for over 36 years in social services with individuals, children, youth and families, the last 25 years working along side horses as her co-facilitators.
Lorna is passionate in supporting individuals in their personal growth, empowering them through increased mind-body awareness, improving their ability to set and maintain boundaries and develop greater self-awareness, while reducing fear and anxiety.
We take what we learn from our relationship with our families into every new relationship created, even with horses. It is in the acknowledgment of these relationships that we recreate our current selves.
About Susan
Susan is a Karuna® Reiki Master Teacher, Animal Reiki practitioner and lifelong horse enthusiast. Her journey with Reiki began in a Reiki among the horses workshop many years ago, and she is delighted to be offering this life changing opportunity to others.
She is a horse professional who has worked as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor under the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) licensure. With Lorna (as the mental health professional) she has partnered as the horse specialist as required by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association's (EAGALA) equine assisted therapy model.
Her work as a barn manager for a non profit providing equine assisted therapy was always guided by her belief that the horse was an equal and essential element of the client's growth and wellness.
Providing care and healing to others has been her life's pleasure and work, as a horse professional and as a Reiki practitioner and teacher.
